People of Lahore not to pay the new bus fares
Despite heavy
raining, LPP activists gathered in front of a private bus stand
at Railway Station Lahore area to protest the recent raise in
Lahore bus fares. They appealed to the people of Lahore not to
pay the revised bus fares. They demanded an immediate withdrawal
of the increased oil prices. Many travelers joined the very live
demonstration and agreed with the demand....

More than 500 participated in LPP Meeting swat KPK

A public meeting at Chaprial in Swat valley organized
by Labour Party Pakistan Pukhtoon Khawa was attended by
over 500. This was the first political public gathering
in this area after a military operation forced the
religious fanatics to retreat from the area they
controlled till 2009. This was one of the three public
gathering organized today attended by central leadership
of LPP including Farooq Tariq spokes person LPP, Younas
Rahu general secretary LPP Sindh and Nazli Javed member
federal committee. Earlier on the day, over hundred
attended in a village in Marta Tehseel.

LPP leadership said that people of Swat has suffered
both at the hands of religious fundamentalists and
military operation. The fanatic have burnt most of the
educational institutions and had killed many who opposed
them. The fanatics have killed Salman Taseer who was
raising voice against a discriminatory blasphemy laws.
We condemn this brutal killing. The religious
fundamentalist groups made the lives of Swat people
miserable.
The LPP leaders said that the military take over of Swat
also solved nothing and the most of the people suffer
because of military check ups and are humiliated all the
times. The LPP leaders said that joining of over 2000 in
LPP in different parts of Swat shows that Left can be
developed even in most difficult objective conditions.
“we demand that the alliance government break all links
with religious fanatics andAmerican imperialism. They
both are anti masses and have nothing to offer to the
work g class of Pakistan. American imperialism must
quit Afghanistan that have been used all the time by the
fanatics to win support among people. American dictated
policies have resulted price hike and unemployment to an
unprecedented level. The Pakistani government can not
see a life without imperialism“ LPP spokesperson Farooq
Tariq said while speaking at the rally.
We demand that all those killed by the fanatics and
during the military operation should be paid at least
one million rupees as compensation, the LPP demanded at
the rallies.
”Long Live Socialism, workers unity, the only way,
workers of the world unite. Workers peasants unity Linda
band, we want revolution” were the main slogans at the
rallies.
Several speakers introduced LPP programme to the new
members of the party. Almost all the left tends present
in Swat have joined LPP.
Later LPP leaders went to the home of Abdullah Qureshi who
was killed by the religious fanatics in a suicidal
attack in 2007.
