Faiz Aman Mela, (Faiz peace
festivity) this year will be organized on Saturday 9th March 2002
at Open Air Theater Jinnah Gardens Lahore from 7pm. Faiz Ahmed
Faiz, the revolutionary poet won a Lenin peace award from Soviet
Union in the sixties was one of the very few poets who wrote
extensively on the question of peace.
Faiz Committee is organizing this peace festivity is comprised of
several left wing political parties, social organizations and
trade unions. Last year over 3000 attended this peace mela.
Several nationally known artists will sing Faiz revolutionary
poetry. A peace message will be distributed by the committee at
the occasion. A poster of Faiz Peace Mela is produced and is being
fly posted around Lahore. If you want this poster to be posted to
you, please send your address.
All welcome, there is no entry fee, although Faiz Committee would
welcome donations from friends and supporters of Faiz to organize
this historic day.
