On the eve of international day of women, Women Workers Help Line Pakistan (WWHL) is organizing two events. On 6th March, WWHL is organizing a women peace Mela (festivity) at Dharampura Lahore. Several non-government organizations will put up their stalls to highlight different aspect of women struggle against domestic violence and other related issues. Labour Party Pakistan will also organize a stall of its publications and weekly paper Workers Struggle.

Several nationally known television and film actors will attend and perform in the Mela to show their solidarity with international women day. There will be speeches and children will perform their short skits.

Local workingwomen from informal sector will sell their homemade products for a small income generation. It is expected that over 2000 women and their families will attend this event organized for the third year.

On 8th March, WWHL will organize a seminar at Lahore Press Club on the theme of “8th March and Women”. Over 300 working class women activists and their families are expected to attend this event.
